wastewaterThe Wastewater Department is responsible for the collection and treatment of wastewater generated by the residential, commercial, and industrial users.

It is also the responsibility of the Wastewater Utility Department to provide the public with information on utility performance, combined sewer overflow (CSO) notification, construction projects, and billing information.

Departments within Wastewater Treatment include:

Operations
Operators work twenty four hours a day, seven days a week to perform the tasks necessary to maintain the plant at peak operational performance.

Maintenance
Maintenance personnel is responsible for the maintenance of the plant and lift station pumps, motors, and equipment. Maintenance personnel is also on-call twenty four hours a day to ensure uninterrupted service to the community.

Collection System
Collection System personnel is responsible for the maintenance of sewer lines within the City. They are also responsible for cleaning, televising, and repair of sanitary sewer lines.

Laboratory
This department performs a variety of routine wastewater analyses in compliance with Nation Pollution Discharge and Elimination Systems (NPDES) permits. The laboratory adheres to approved state and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) protocols and Quality Assurance Plans to maintain sample integrity and the accuracy of the results. The results or raw, process and treated wastewater provides Operators with information needed to make adjustments to maintain effective treatment.
